ABOUT THE BAND Blue River Ordonnance: (or·don·nance--French, Disposition of the parts (as of a literary or music composition) with regard to one another and the whole: ARRANGEMENT) Blue River Ordonnance (BRO) brings together elements of Delta Blues, early Chicago styles, and Afro-Cuban rhythms to create a sound both unique and powerful. They follow their own hearts in their quest to keep discovering what makes blues an ever changing multi-faceted art form. They also include some old favorites, and some funky dance tunes, to add to the fun. BRO has been together since 1996 and during that time, they have performed in numerous clubs, festivals, private parties, benefits and other events throughout the metro area, as well as in neighboring states. BRO has opened shows for several national blues acts, and headlined at a number of festivals. “Snake Doctor,” one of the original songs on their CD,“Handcrafted,” was sent to the website, www.garageband.com, a well-known music website where musicians from all over the world, of all music genres, send their original music. They, in turn, must review others’ music and rate it. Within approximately one month, “Snake Doctor” became the number one ranked song in all categories out of 91,000 songs. (No other blues songs made it to the top fifty in all categories.) It held the top spot for over a month. In 2005, BRO was featured in a Hollywood movie called, "Full Count" aka: “Lenexa One Mile,” where they played a live acoustic version of, “Snake Doctor.” Tom Duckworth, was featured as the main characters father in the movie. |
